WISCONSIN RIVER TRAIL NEWS

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all that purchased a chicken BBQ meal in support of the WRTO on July 3rd. While we didn’t totally sell out, we came close. We appreciate the people who donated meals for others that are going through their own struggles. Our community is amazing! Thanks to our dessert bakers too. We received donations from Timber Lane Coffee Shop, Piggly Wiggly, The Cottage Bakery, and many local wonderful individual bakers.
The WRTO is proud to host the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus on Thursday, August 11, 2016. The Big Top tent raising includes a free, short tour to the public at Kronshage Park at 9:30 AM, and all are welcome. “Skeeter The Clown” will be in town on Tuesday, August 2nd. Stay tuned for “show” locations and times. Circus tickets are for sale locally at these Boscobel locations: World of Variety, Timber Lane Coffee, and Peoples State Bank, and in Fennimore at: Bender Foods and Friederick’s Family Restaurant ($7 for children 2-12 and seniors 65 & $10 for adults. The day of the shows, the prices increase, so stop by ticket locations to purchase your tickets today. Board Members also have tickets!
Here are 4 easy ways for children to score FREE tickets! Stop by the Hildebrand Library in Boscobel and inquire about the “Read the Book” campaign featuring circus inspired books. The World of Variety has a coloring contest entry, which will be displayed in the storefront window. The Boscobel Pool is having a “Peanut Guessing” game to win tickets. Finally, the upcoming Summer School session will feature a “Perfect Attendance” free ticket campaign. Drawings for free tickets will be held the week prior to the circus!
THAT’S MY BRICK campaign has begun. In an effort to raise individual donations to continue the forward engineering progress of phase 2A and 2B, we are seeking out monthly donations that can be transacted easily through your bank account. Most non-profit organizations are made up of over 70% of private donations. The WRTO funds come from less than 1% private donations. We’ve created a simple way to donate $5-$10/month directly out of your bank, and after a donation of $250, you will receive an inscribed brick (with different inscriptions and designs that you choose from) to put at our trail’s free-standing flag memorial. If you would like to donate $250 right away, you can go to http://www.thatsmybrick.com/wirivertrail and pick out your brick immediately. If you would choose to stop your payments at any time, that can be completed upon request without any difficulty.
Don’t forget, when ordering from Amazon, to go to www.smileamazon.com instead, choose the WRTO as your non-profit organization that will automatically receive 0.5% of your total, donated by the Amazon company, and help us fund our future trails.
We hope everyone has a great week and is enjoying their summer!
