CHICKEN BBQ SELLS OUT

WISCONSIN RIVER TRAIL NEWS

SOLD OUT is a good and bad thing, but we are sure ecstatic over the 500 chicken dinners that we sold this past Wednesday at the Chicken BBQ in the park.

We had a blast and can’t thank our volunteers that gave up some of their holiday weekend to help us out, as well as the people who donated baked goods, and A & W, Casey’s, Dairy Queen, Piggly Wiggly, and Kwik Trip for their kind donations.

Next year we’ll up it to 525!?

Favorite Hometown Moment:

During the hot parade, as always, my favorite float is the Iwa Jima bronze men tribute. Bob Scallon, one of our hometown veterans, got out of the truck that was pulling the float, and pointed, recognized, and saluted one of the original float members. Harley Dalton resides in the Boscobel Nursing Home now, and he humbly returned a smile, salute, and wave. Thank you, Bob, for pointing Harley out to us, and thank you even more, Harley! We are blessed to have you in our presence!

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for this Wednesday night, July 10th, when our 2nd Music at the Mill begins with the Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, who will entertain rain or shine at the Wisconsin River Outings, (715 Wisconsin Avenue). Cost is just $5.00/person. Bring your own chairs and beverages (including alcohol) and enjoy your summer evening with some old-time country music, complete with a fun little twist.

Udder Brothers will be providing their delicious ice cream, and the WRTO will be providing dinner which will consist of picnic kinds of food. Music times are 6-8:00 pm.

A special thank you to last month’s band, Aquatic Hitchhikers for their amazing job they did entertaining us!

Coming in hot…The Taste of Boscobel: Saturday, September 7th! Contact us if you want to be included, would like to volunteer, or would like to suggest a new band or performers! Have a great week!
