Ribbon Cutting set for March 21st!

WISCONSIN RIVER TRAIL NEWS

The Department of Transportation (DOT), City of Boscobel, Wisconsin River Trail Organization, DNR, and Department of Tourism would like to invite you to a DOT-sponsored ribbon cutting ceremony at the Von Haden Boat Landing at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 21st Top representatives from the above departments are expected to be present.  This event signifies that the construction phase for the hiking/biking trail from the city’s northern boundary to the Von Haden Boat Landing, is going to be a reality soon.  We are celebrating the collaboration, hard work, and detailed planning that has taken place with the city staff, project engineer, Jeremy Krachey from Wauzeka’s TEAM Engineering, WRTO, DOT, and DNR.  We couldn’t have asked for a better team from these departments, to make this trail a reality.  Safety is the highest priority, and you will soon see all the safety features included in finishing the trail to our boat landing.  Following the presentation, the WRTO will sponsor a reception at Madge’s Timber Lane Coffee Shop from 2-3 pm.  All are invited.  We hope you can make it.  We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished!

Don’t forget that Thursday, March 17th from 4-7 pm, Dairy Queen is sponsoring a fun evening, donating a portion of their sales to the WRTO.  The trail board and volunteers will be present, ready to talk about our favorite subject, the WRTO, and to fill you in on our latest fundraisers and events.  We will have information on a new group of supporters we are forming.  “Trailblazers” will be our volunteer group of children and parents.  Sign up is that evening, with more information available then.  We look forward to including our kiddos in helping us create our community trail.  We will kick off a raffle of Crazy Lenny’s donated electric bike, worth $2000, and have information on our “That’s My Pan” fundraiser (go to www.thatsmypan.biz/FRWI10345 to browse), amazon smile, yard “big biking” opportunities, merchandise sales, and ACH donations.   Bring your milk moola caps from Kwik Trip for us too!

This spring, our events include bike safety on May 8th and The Taste of Boscobel, combining this year with last year’s wine walk event, on May 14th.  Mark your calendars!  We’re up to creating FUN again!
